Hey,I want to be honest about something I’m doing differently. I used to build in public with an agenda. You might have already knew this. LOL Every post had a purpose. A reason. A hidden CTA. “Share this vulnerable moment → they connect → they DM → hopeful that they'll buy consulting.” It made sense strategically. But it wasn’t real. So I’m doing something different now.I’m sharing the real journey. My health struggles. My money relationship. My Bible study. My thoughts about humility. Without the agenda. Here’s what changed: Before: I was thinking about conversions. Now: I’m thinking about connection. Before: Every post had a purpose (get them to Inner Circle, consulting, newsletter). Now: Every post has a story (here’s what I learned, here’s what I’m struggling with). I'm building in public honestly. The difference:When you email with an agenda, people feel it. They see the join-my-course energy. And even if it’s true, it lands differently. When you email without an agenda, people believe you. Because there’s nothing to gain except the conversation. This doesn’t mean I’m not building a business anymore. But the emails aren’t about those. The emails are about me. Actually building. Actually learning. Actually changing. And if people want to work with me after that? Great. But that’s not why I’m sending this. I’m sending this because:I need to process. I need to be honest. I need community. I need accountability. The offers will exist. People will find them if they want them. But they’re not the point anymore. Here’s what I’m learning:Real connection > conversion strategy Real journey > polished narrative Real problems > solved problems Building in public. Actually. Not performing. Not strategizing. Just… showing up. And inviting you to do the same. You already subscribed to this newsletter because something resonated. Let’s keep it real.Building in public, always 🤍 Megs P.S. If you have thoughts on this shift, reply to this email. I read every response. |
Real talk on building a life that's actually yours. I'm a paralegal, founder, and someone figuring it out, too.
Hey friend, Tonight, I posted something vulnerable on X about my health journey. Here's the post: My hopes are that people feel encouraged to share their own struggles. Their own guilt. Their own “energy for everything except myself” moments. But more importantly, I want to people ask themselves the following question within their own lives: How do I know who to listen to? That’s this week’s Strategic Drop. & this is what I learned this week. TRUST YOURSELF, EVEN WHEN EVERYONE HAS OPINIONS...
You’re juggling a 9-to-5 and a side hustle. Your instinct? Do more. Move faster. Say yes to everything. But here’s what nobody tells you: the most strategic move you can make is often to do absolutely nothing. Why We’re Addicted to Doing Our culture worships action. We measure success in output, speed, and visibility. Sitting still feels like failure. But when you’re always in motion, you: • Make reactive decisions instead of strategic ones • Dilute your energy across too many things • Miss...
